No private vehicles(4 wheelers ) should be on the roads without a miminum of 2 passengers(I think, it is a very important step in the first world countries)
There should be strict regulations on the annual servicing of the vehicles so that they dont consume more fuel(specially for third world countries)
Public vehicles should be more abundant(buses, chartered cars)
Use of two wheelers should be encouraged.
Trains are most economic as per as ratio of fuel consumption and passenger load are concerned. So trains should be more abundant.
Building more bridges, roads so that the distance between to points become minimum and thus the fuel consumption would be less. (I think it is a very important step in the third world countries). Between bridges and roads the first one deserves more importance.
Rail tracks and ships should replace aeroplanes.
The use of technology should be at its maximum. As for example, by telephone we can send message anywhere without being presnt there, so in that case there is no fuel consumption. Like that in IT sector if some work can be done in one's drawing room's laptop, the boss should not ask him to be present in the office. (This type of rules should be made so that we dont need to be present somewhere without any reason)
The nations should spend more money in the research projects for finding new source of energy rather than spending money in wars where lots of fuel is consumed meaninglessly.
The most important is, we(the nations and the individuals) should be aware of the upcoming danger of scarcity of fuel which is the main source of energy of this automatic civilisation.
